Position Overview:

Geosyntec Consultants, Inc. is seeking a Senior Water Resources Engineer or Scientist to join our dynamic team. This role will focus on intricate projects related to innovative urban stormwater management and natural water systems, emphasizing sustainable green infrastructure planning, urban stormwater design, flood mitigation strategies, and comprehensive hydrologic/hydraulic analyses including dam breach evaluations and floodplain mapping.

The successful candidate will engage in stream restoration, surface water monitoring, watershed management, and stormwater runoff modeling, as well as provide support for industrial and construction site NPDES permitting and inspections, along with Clean Water Act compliance.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Conducting and supervising detailed hydrologic and hydraulic studies;

2. Creating innovative green infrastructure solutions tailored for urban settings;

3. Utilizing advanced hydrologic and hydraulic modeling software, including 1-D to 3-D transport models;

4. Executing floodplain mapping and designing flood protection measures;

5. Monitoring and modeling water quality in streams and urban stormwater systems;

6. Performing field investigations and providing construction support services;

7. Developing construction documents, including engineering drawings and technical specifications;

8. Designing erosion and sediment control measures;

9. Collaborating with client representatives;

10. Leading multi-disciplinary project teams;

11. Managing multiple concurrent project assignments with task-level responsibility for scoping, execution, and delivery;

12. Supporting business development, staff development, and mentoring initiatives; and

13. Enhancing our reputation through publications and participation in prominent industry conferences.

Qualifications:


A Bachelor's degree in environmental or civil engineering, natural resources, or a related science field with a focus on water resources is required. An advanced degree in a related discipline is preferred.

Experience and Skills:
Minimum of 5 years of relevant research or professional experience, with 7+ years preferred. Familiarity with modeling and design software tools such as EPA-SWMM, HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, AutoCAD, and ArcGIS is advantageous.


Ability to thrive in a fast-paced consulting environment, managing multiple projects while adhering to strict deadlines and traveling as necessary.

Strong writing and communication skills are essential.

Fieldwork and overnight travel may be required.

Health & Safety training, medical monitoring, and compliance with client-driven drug and background testing may be necessary.

A valid U.S. driver's license and a satisfactory driving record for business travel are required.
