Job Opportunity

Hunger Solutions New York is seeking a highly skilled Finance and Administration Specialist to join our Fiscal Team. This role will be responsible for providing critical support to our financial operations, ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.


Key Responsibilities
  • Collect and provide data for voucher management on state contracts, ensuring timely and accurate submissions.
  • Assist in preparing and reviewing vouchers, budgets, and reports related to state contracts, maintaining compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Support the preparation of contract budgets and budget amendments for various funding sources, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
  • Manage large volume communications, including spreadsheets, mail merges, postage meter usage, and other bulk mailing duties, maintaining up-to-date contact lists and generating emails on behalf of the organization.
  • Respond to phone calls and emails from subcontractors and vendors, providing timely and professional support.
  • Review monthly, quarterly, and annual operational and fiscal reports from subcontractors for accuracy, ensuring compliance with contractual requirements.
  • Provide technical assistance on fiscal policies and procedures to subcontractors, promoting best practices and ensuring adherence to organizational standards.
  • Assist with compliance review of subcontractors related to multiple state contracts, ensuring alignment with regulatory requirements.
  • Support reconciliation to the general ledger, ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting.
  • Collaborate with vendors as needed, providing professional support and ensuring timely resolution of issues.
  • Perform additional accounting duties as assigned, adhering to generally accepted accounting practices (GAAP).
  • After successful onboarding and training, this position may be hybrid, with at least three days per week in office and the ability to work remotely.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess a basic understanding of accounting practices, with a strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines.


  • Must be able to manage multiple projects, work collaboratively with colleagues, and focus on details to achieve excellence.
  • Familiarity with QuickBooks and the Microsoft suite of products, specifically Excel, is required.
  • At least three to five years of experience in accounting or finance-related work is preferred.
  • A Bachelor's Degree in a related field is preferred, but an Associate's Degree is required.
  • Must reside in the State of New York and be able to reliably commute to Albany, New York.

Compensation

Hunger Solutions New York offers a competitive compensation package, with a salary range of $48,000 to $55,000 annually. We provide fully paid benefit premiums, including health, dental, life, short- and long-term disability, and a retirement plan with a 5% match. A Health Reimbursement Account (HRA) may be available, depending on the chosen health insurance package. We also offer a generous amount of PTO and holiday time for each employee.
