Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Pharmacy Technician to join our team at Actalent. As a Pharmacy Technician, you will play a critical role in supporting our pharmacy operations and ensuring the highest level of patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Triage and interpret medication orders, accurately inputting them into our computerized system.
  • Perform complex drug calculations, including basic mathematical calculations, to ensure accurate medication dispensing.
  • Maintain current knowledge of Medicaid claim regulations and processes, producing reports and keeping management informed of unpaid claims.
  • Assist with drug preparation and dispensing under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist.
  • Fill prescription items and package medications for dispensing and delivery, adhering to strict quality control standards.
  • Label products appropriately, including cautionary or auxiliary labels, to ensure patient safety.
  • Participate in periodic inventory of the pharmacy, monitoring pharmaceutical levels and managing inventory functions.
  • Prepare medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, in a sterile environment.
  • Process returned medications for credit or destruction, adhering to company policies and procedures.
  • Operate in a controlled environment, handling narcotics and other controlled substances with precision and care.
  • Work with automated machines to prepack drugs, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Manage inventory functions, including monitoring pharmaceutical levels and maintaining accurate records.
  • Input patient data and medication orders into our computer system, ensuring accurate and timely processing.
  • Mix and package IV medications, sanitizing the IV room, equipment, and hood to maintain a sterile environment.
  • Service facility-based medication dispensing machines, ensuring they are functioning properly and efficiently.

  • Communicate effectively with internal and external customers, providing clear and concise information to ensure seamless operations.
