Job Overview

Compensation and Benefits

  • The hourly wage for this role is $21.50.

Position Highlights

  • This is a contract position with the potential for permanent employment based on attendance, performance, and business requirements.
  • Availability must include two opening shifts and two closing shifts each week, along with Sunday hours from 10 AM to 7 PM. Opening shifts are either from 8 AM to 6:30 PM or 9 AM to 7:30 PM, while closing shifts run from 10 AM to 8:30 PM.

Key Responsibilities

  • Process prescription orders, ensuring compliance with the State Board of Pharmacy, while maintaining accuracy and productivity standards.
  • Label medications correctly, including necessary cautionary or auxiliary labels.
  • Participate in regular inventory checks of pharmacy stock.
  • Assist in receiving drugs and supplies, restocking shelves, and removing expired items from inventory.
  • Prepare various forms of medications, including emulsions, liquids, powders, and ointments, which may involve non-sterile compounding.
  • Communicate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders in a professional manner.
  • Handle returned medications for credit or disposal as needed.
  • Support the training of new pharmacy staff.
  • Perform at least one of the following tasks:
    • Manage controlled substances in the Narcotics Room;
    • Operate automated machines for drug repackaging;
    • Oversee inventory management, including monitoring pharmaceutical levels and identifying expired medications;
    • Input patient data and medication orders into the pharmacy system for label generation;
    • Prepare and package IV medications, ensuring cleanliness of the IV room and equipment.
  • Maintain facility-based medication dispensing systems.
  • Complete additional tasks as assigned.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or GED required.
  • Previous pharmacy experience is essential.
  • Must possess a valid pharmacy technician license in the state of Oregon.
  • Attendance is critical during the initial 90 days of employment.

Preferred Qualifications

  • At least 6 months of experience in order entry.
