Role Responsibilities:

  • Typical responsibilities associated with this role include:
  • Logging samples and relevant information into the laboratory database.
  • Ensuring that sample submissions correspond with the accompanying documentation and preparing samples for logging.
  • Assisting with various sample preparations as per training and competency.
  • Processing analytical reports.
  • Serving as the initial point of contact for laboratory inquiries and directing issues to the appropriate personnel.
  • Entering analytical data into the laboratory database.
  • Inputting Quality Control data into the designated storage area.
  • Maintaining organized records and files.
  • Ordering necessary supplies and materials.
  • Conducting general housekeeping duties within the laboratory.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • While comprehensive knowledge in all areas is not mandatory at the hiring stage, it is anticipated to develop through training and exposure to laboratory activities.
  • Familiarity with laboratory tests and analyses.
  • Understanding of laboratory terminology and equipment.
  • Awareness of all Quality procedures.
  • Capability to handle samples appropriately.
  • Ability to perform basic mathematical calculations.
  • Competence in maintaining accurate records.
  • Effective communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate within a team environment.
  • Commitment to impartiality and integrity in reporting results.
  • Proficiency in using a computer (PC) for creating spreadsheets and data entry.
  • Understanding of vendor ordering procedures.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or Associate's Degree or equivalent is required.
  • Specific experience is necessary, with a preference for laboratory experience.
