Position Overview

The Kentucky Personnel Cabinet is seeking a Registered Geologist to join our dedicated team within the Energy & Environment Cabinet. This role is integral to our mission of enhancing the quality of life for all Kentuckians by safeguarding our natural resources.

Key Responsibilities

As a Registered Geologist, you will:

  • Conduct thorough geological, hydrogeological, and geotechnical evaluations of permit applications to ensure adherence to environmental regulations.
  • Review Groundwater Assessment Plans and Corrective Action Plans to assess compliance with established standards.
  • Evaluate plans for the installation and abandonment of groundwater monitoring wells and landfill gas wells.
  • Provide expert geological consultation to industry professionals, including geologists, engineers, and environmental specialists.
  • Assist in construction inspections and perform geological site assessments to verify compliance with regulatory requirements.
