We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Cook Assistant to join our team at South Middlesex Opportu. The successful candidate will support the meals program in accordance with our policies and procedures, ensuring that food quality standards, inventory levels, and customer service expectations are met.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in the preparation and distribution of food, ensuring that established sanitation and safety standards are practiced.
- Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager to maintain a clean and presentable Dining Room for Guests, Volunteers, and Staff.
- Provide exceptional customer service, engaging with clients and addressing their needs in a positive and professional manner.
- Work collaboratively with volunteers, stipend workers, and staff to maintain a positive working environment.
- Report any issues of security and safety to the Manager in charge.
- Attend and participate in team meetings as requested, communicating effectively with clients and staff in other areas.
- Maintain confidentiality of client, employee, and agency information in accordance with federal and state laws and funder requirements.
- Ensure compliance with program/department, agency, and/or funder requirements, as well as, SMOC policies & procedures.
Requirements:
- High School diploma or GED or demonstrated kitchen experience.
- ServSafe Training is preferred, or trained in food safety guidelines by Kitchen Manager.
- Commitment to the mission of South Middlesex Opportu and its target population.
