Job Summary:

The Executive Director is responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Commission and implementing policies and regulations that benefit Arizona citizens who are deaf and hard of hearing.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Administer the Commission's programs and services, ensuring compliance with Arizona Revised Statutes and Commission policies.
  • Develop and implement strategic plans to promote awareness of hearing loss issues and improve services for deaf and hard of hearing individuals.
  • Collaborate with the Governor's office, Legislature, and other stakeholders to advance the Commission's mission and goals.
  • Manage and coordinate the total administration of the agency, including budgeting, financial reporting, and personnel management.
  • Represent the Commission in public forums, media, and other settings, promoting the agency's mission and values.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in deaf education, counseling, business administration, or a related field, or 10+ years of experience as an administrator of programs or services directly for deaf and/or hard of hearing.
  • Strong leadership and organizational skills, with experience engaging with the general public, consumers, consumer and professional organizations, public officials, and other stakeholders.
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment, meeting changing or new situations and needs.
