Senior AML Investigations Manager

To achieve this, we're taking Financial Crimes extremely seriously, and we're looking for a highly skilled Senior AML Investigations Manager to join our team.

About the Role

As a Senior AML Investigations Manager, you'll be responsible for driving and owning the AML domain at Mercury. You'll work closely with our Compliance, Legal, Risk Strategy, and Risk Product teams to ensure that our AML program is robust, efficient, and effective. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Leading a team of talented AML investigators responsible for creating operational procedures and conducting account and transaction investigations for money laundering.
  • Mentoring, coaching, and supporting senior and junior individual contributors.
  • Partnering cross-functionally with Compliance, Legal, Product, Risk Strategy, and additional groups to enhance Mercury's AML program and drive efficiency using data and technology.
  • Increasing resilience and scalability of AML operations using process automation and outsourcing when appropriate, and working with Product teams to build capabilities and tools.
  • Suggesting new monitoring and controls to address new risks created by new products or changes to existing offerings.
  • Creating and owning procedures governing Mercury's AML investigations process.
  • Assisting and supporting the design and creation of AML control optimization.
  • Educating internal and external stakeholders on AML investigations at Mercury.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you'll need:

  • 6+ years of work experience in the AML domain, with 8+ years of work experience overall.
  • 4+ years of people management experience, preferably of AML investigators.
  • Strong analytical thinking skills, with a focus on metrics-driven and results-oriented approaches.
  • Deep knowledge of BSA/AML regulations, policies, best practices, and tools.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills, with the ability to motivate your team, secure buy-in from leadership, and work effectively with all functions.
  • Comfort with decision-making in a fast-paced, ambiguous environment.

New hire offers are made based on a candidate's experience, expertise, geographic location, and internal pay equity relative to peers.

Our target new hire base salary ranges for this role are:

  • US employees in New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle: $162,000 - $200,000
  • US employees outside of New York City, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Seattle: $146,900 - $185,000
  • Canadian employees (any location): CAD 147,800 - CAD 185,000
