Job Title: Risk Assessment Specialist-Shift

The Kentucky Judicial Branch is seeking a highly skilled Risk Assessment Specialist-Shift to join our team in the Administrative Office of the Courts. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for performing risk assessments and providing critical support to our pretrial services department.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Document and ensure communication related to risk assessment
  • Maintain input or data quality of risk assessment
  • Perform the duties of a pretrial officer, including preparing affidavits
  • Perform administrative and other duties as assigned
  • Communicate/articulate the concepts and processes behind risk assessment methodology
  • Analyze and interpret data for trends affecting program outcomes
  • Process information by compiling, coding, categorizing, calculating, tabulating, and auditing
  • Provide statistical reports to other departments
  • Translate or explain what information means and how it can be used
  • Develop processes to monitor the validity of risk assessment
  • Implement risk assessment models or methodologies
  • Produce reports or presentations that outline findings, explain risk assessment, and recommend
  • Ability to present ideas in a business-friendly and user-friendly manner
  • Track, measure, and report pretrial outcomes
  • Analyze new legislation to determine impact on pretrial services
  • Obtain information from all relevant sources
  • Provide information to supervisor, co-worker, and subordinates by telephone, and in written form
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field
  • 1 year of pretrial risk assessment experience, statistical analysis, and/or research experience
  • Must be able to pass FBI clearance to obtain NCIC certification
  • Must be able to work in the jail or detention center of the county or counties in which assigned
  • Extensive knowledge of pretrial risk assessment methodology and research
  • Extensive knowledge of best practices in the field of pretrial services
  • Extensive knowledge of Kentucky court system
  • Extensive knowledge in criminal history investigation at a nationwide level
Working Conditions:

Work is typically performed in detention centers and judicial center offices. May include nights, weekends, and holidays. Extensive travel will be required.
