Job Overview

Position: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Location: Fort Morgan, Colorado
Type: Full-time

Objective: The primary goal of this role is to perform a variety of maintenance tasks at various levels, including but not limited to: Maintenance Utility Entry Level, Maintenance Utility C, Maintenance Utility B, Maintenance Utility A, and advanced mechanical duties. The technician will be responsible for ensuring the proper functioning of equipment used in sugar production, while adhering to safety and operational protocols.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all company policies, including Safety, Food Safety, Environmental regulations, and Work Rules.
  • Execute maintenance tasks on industrial machinery as directed by management.
  • Essential skills for this role include:
    • Accurate measurement using tape measures and dial calipers.
    • Lubrication of mechanical components.
    • Training new maintenance staff.
    • Welding techniques including Stick, MIG, and TIG.
    • Brazing and soldering.
    • Independent work on belts, chains, and gears.
    • Knowledge of hydraulic systems and plumbing.
    • Operation of industrial trucks.
    • Conducting vibration analysis and shaft alignment.
    • Working with various types of pumps and turbines.
    • Pipe fitting and mechanical seal maintenance.
    • Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
    • Troubleshooting mechanical issues.
    • Performing preventative maintenance and proactive inspections.
    • Documenting equipment conditions and notifying supervisors of any issues.
  • Conduct routine checks for mechanical issues and operational efficiency.
  • Assist with team projects as needed.
  • Complete necessary documentation as requested by management.
  • Support fellow maintenance staff as directed.
  • Participate in seasonal maintenance activities.
  • Fill in for absent personnel when qualified.
  • Attend training sessions as required by management.
  • Follow all instructions and perform additional tasks as assigned.

Required Skills:

  • Effective communication skills in English, both written and verbal.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to communicate equipment conditions and directives effectively.

Employment Criteria: Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess proficiency in reading and writing English. A foundational understanding of maintenance roles is required. Dependability and reliability are essential attributes for this position.
