Job Overview

Position: Industrial Maintenance Technician
Location: Fort Morgan, Colorado
Type: Full-time

Objective: The primary goal of this role is to execute a variety of maintenance tasks, including but not limited to: Maintenance Utility Entry Level, Maintenance Utility C, Maintenance Utility B, Maintenance Utility A, and Top Mechanic responsibilities. A solid understanding of sugar manufacturing processes, machinery, and control systems is essential. This role involves the safe and efficient repair of production equipment while adhering to the guidance of the Shift or Maintenance Supervisor.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Adhere to all organizational policies, including Human Resources, Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and Work Rules.
  • Perform maintenance on industrial machinery as directed by management.
  • Essential tasks include:
    • Accurate measurement using tape measures and dial calipers.
    • Lubrication of mechanical components.
    • Training new maintenance personnel.
    • Welding (Stick, MIG, TIG) and brazing/soldering.
    • Independent work on belts, chains, and gears.
    • Maintenance of hydraulic systems and plumbing.
    • Operation of industrial trucks.
    • Conducting vibration analysis and shaft alignment.
    • Maintenance of various pump types, including low and high-pressure pumps.
    • Pipe fitting and mechanical seal maintenance.
    • Reading and interpreting blueprints and schematics.
    • Troubleshooting and repairing equipment.
    • Performing preventative and proactive maintenance.
    • Reporting any issues with equipment to supervisors.
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify mechanical issues or operational inefficiencies.
  • Assist in team projects as assigned by the supervisor.
  • Complete necessary documentation as required by management.
  • Support fellow maintenance staff as needed.
  • Participate in seasonal maintenance activities as part of a designated crew.
  • Fill in for absent personnel when qualified and trained.
  • Attend training sessions as requested by management.
  • Follow directives and undertake additional tasks as assigned by supervisors.

Required Skills:

  • Proficient in written and verbal communication in English.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.
  • Effective communication regarding equipment status and directives.

Employment Criteria: Candidates must be at least 18 years old and possess the ability to read and write in English. A foundational understanding of maintenance roles and responsibilities is required. Dependability and reliability in attendance and participation in training are crucial.
