New Story School is currently looking for a dedicated Educational Support Specialist to implement behavioral science strategies in aiding students, educators, and additional support personnel with educational and behavioral guidance. This role requires readiness to respond promptly to staff needs and the capability to effectively manage a classroom during substitute teaching roles. It is essential for staff to maintain a positive and professional demeanor in all interactions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Utilize behavioral science principles to support the educational and behavioral management of students.
  • Facilitate and contribute to data-driven educational practices.
  • Assist in Precision Teaching initiatives.
  • Support data collection efforts (including IEP or behavioral data).
  • Employ data to inform decision-making processes.
  • Assist in delivering explicit instructional strategies.
  • Implement "Mathetics" to enhance daily learning experiences.
  • Support direct instruction methodologies and techniques.
  • Engage in habit training responsibilities.
  • Help manage student behavior effectively.
  • Apply behavioral science principles to maintain student conduct.
  • Follow the designated classroom management tiers for each student.
  • Correctly implement prescribed crisis intervention strategies.
  • Oversee and participate in school activities both inside and outside the classroom.
  • Contribute to a safe and productive classroom environment.
  • Implement data-informed decision-making practices.
  • Utilize formal academic and behavioral data to guide interventions.
PHYSICAL AND SENSORY REQUIREMENTS
  • Ability to perform non-violent crisis intervention techniques, including verbal and physical redirection of potentially aggressive students during crisis scenarios.
  • Capability to respond swiftly and be sufficiently mobile to redirect students who may pose a risk to themselves or others.
  • Ability to assist in the evacuation of students during emergency situations.
  • Must achieve and maintain full certification(s) in designated crisis management programs.
