Position Overview:

The Cannabis Retail Specialist plays a crucial role in assisting patients in selecting the right medical cannabis products tailored to their individual needs. This position emphasizes the importance of educating patients about various cannabis offerings.

As a key point of contact, the Cannabis Retail Specialist will engage with patients from their initial entry into the facility until they complete their purchase, ensuring a positive experience that fosters confidence and satisfaction in their choices.



Key Responsibilities:

- Register patients and caregivers into the system using their identification and verify their eligibility through the appropriate registry.
- Ensure all necessary profile information is accurately completed and check patients into the sales system.
- Utilize available resources to confirm medication supply and avoid over-prescribing during patient consultations.
- Provide comprehensive education on product types, uses, and appropriate dosages to maximize therapeutic benefits.
- Verify that the medication selected corresponds with the order by checking product labels.
- Assist patients with inquiries and concerns, both in-person and via phone.
- Educate patients on relevant laws and regulations pertaining to medical cannabis use.
- Participate in daily inventory management of cannabis and related products.
- Communicate any unusual observations or activities to management.
- Uphold compliance with all applicable state and local regulations throughout the sales process.
- Support the management team in ensuring smooth operational flow and adherence to regulations.
- Maintain patient confidentiality in accordance with privacy laws.



Qualifications:
- Minimum age of 21 years.
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to pass background checks and obtain necessary licensing.
- Experience in retail or hospitality preferred.
- Availability for varied shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Capable of performing essential job functions with or without accommodation.
- Proficient in reading, writing, and communicating in English.

- Knowledge of sales techniques and product promotion strategies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with active listening abilities.
