About the Role

We are seeking an experienced Med-Surg Registered Nurse to join our team at Riverside Community Hospital. As a key member of our nursing staff, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care and contributing to a positive and supportive work environment.

Responsibilities
  • Develop and implement individual patient care plans in accordance with standards of nursing practice through implementation of the nursing process and nursing diagnosis.
  • Administer medications as ordered for specific groups of patients and demonstrate knowledge of their modes of action, side effects, and contraindications.
  • Initiate, regulate, and manage IV therapy for assigned patients.
  • Assume responsibility for patient placement on the unit and assignment of care responsibilities that consider complexity of nursing care required by each patient.
  • Demonstrate competence in clinical knowledge, skills required, and technology of the department employed in the care of patients on the unit.
  • Evaluate patient environment for safety and communicate identified concerns to the appropriate person in a timely manner.
  • Provide patient education and keep patients informed of treatment plans.
  • Maintain a safe, comfortable, and therapeutic environment for patients and families in accordance with hospital standards.
Requirements
  • Valid California RN license.
  • Current BCLS certification required.
  • National RN Certification preferred.
  • Graduate from an accredited school of nursing.
  • Minimum of one year of acute care hospital experience in an area of specialty preferred.
About Riverside Community Hospital

Riverside Community Hospital is a large acute care facility with 517 beds, established in 1901. It has the most extensive Emergency Room and Level I Trauma Center in the Inland Empire region and is the primary recipient of STEMI (heart attack) cases in Riverside County. The hospital is accredited as a Chest Pain Center and Comprehensive Stroke Center and has a HeartCare Institute that offers both invasive and non-invasive cardiac procedures. Riverside has a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit, which it is very proud of.
