About the Role

Covenant House California is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Youth Safety Advocate to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for providing professional customer service, engaging in positive interactions with youth, staff, vendors, and guests, and monitoring the reception desk, including answering phones and greeting residents, staff, and guests.

You will also be responsible for monitoring entrance and activity in all buildings through foot patrol and surveillance equipment and reporting unusual and/or suspicious activities/events to management staff or person in charge (PIC). Additionally, you will maintain the sanctuary by completing internal and external checks, including locking doors, reporting damage/maintenance needs, and ensuring that only appropriate persons have access to the facility.

The ideal candidate will have experience working with homeless or at-risk youth/young adults in a residential setting and possess good organizational skills, the ability to communicate effectively, and knowledge of security procedures. A current California State issued Guard Card is required, and a valid CA driver's license, good driving record, and reliable transportation are preferred.

This is a non-exempt, 40-hour per week position with an estimated salary of $20.49/hour.
