About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Director, Automation to join our team at 2K Games. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for driving the evolution of testing across our studios and guiding the test effort to develop and implement software solutions that assist in the debugging of 2K games and their associated tools.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and communicate the vision for the automation teams
  • Design, build, and maintain an extensible test automation framework
  • Work closely with Development and functional test teams to develop efficient tests through automation
  • Lead and champion the automation Tech Directors in support of career growth, team mentorship, and providing a clear north star
  • Lead the use of emerging technologies like AI, machine learning, and automation solutions to accelerate development velocity and improve the quality of our products
  • Participate in proactive automation project planning and understand the technical breakdown of projects
  • Collaborate with multi-functional studio leadership to collect and implement opportunities for technical improvement
  • Responsible for studio engineering standard methodologies, including shared tools and technology
  • Partner with Technical Directors to research new technologies to continually improve our game technology
  • Maintain oversight of large architectural decisions being made at the project level
Requirements
  • 8+ years of previous work experience as a technologist
  • 5+ years in a leadership role as a people-focused mentor and lead
  • Knowledge of professional software engineering standards for the full software development process, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, build processes, testing, and live operations
  • Experience in architecting and building test automation frameworks, preferably for testing large-scale live service games
  • Proven track record of leading teams focused on extensive testing of games infrastructure for Load, Stress, Scalability, Performance, and Reliability
  • Ability to offer technical expertise, solution architecture guidance, and mentoring to developers on various game/tech teams
  • The ability to influence Dev culture and a desire to keep communication channels as transparent as possible
  • Experience creating impactful processes to identify and develop talent within the Automation Department
  • Successful track record establishing and leading multi-location development operations as well as experience leading implementation management
