Position Summary

We are in search of a highly driven and seasoned Senior Tools & Automation Engineer to become a vital part of our Tools & Automation division. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in the Tools & Automation team at Bitfocus, focusing on the design, development, and upkeep of solutions that enhance our engineering methodologies. Collaborating closely with stakeholders and team members, the engineer will be tasked with creating tools for reproducible testing environments, developing automated testing frameworks, and establishing a robust CI/CD pipeline. This position is perfect for an engineer who is proactive, innovative, and passionate about delivering top-notch solutions. The engineer should thrive in a dynamic setting and be adept at effective communication with stakeholders at all levels.

Key Responsibilities
  • Automation: Design, develop, and maintain tools and frameworks to support automated testing and reproducible test environments.
  • Deployment Pipeline: Architect and implement a CI/CD pipeline to streamline deployment processes and ensure high-quality releases.
  • Collaboration: Work with cross-functional teams to identify automation opportunities and drive continuous improvement in engineering workflows.
  • Mentorship: Provide guidance and mentorship to junior engineers within the department.
  • Industry Awareness: Stay updated with industry trends and best practices to ensure our tools and processes remain cutting-edge.
Qualifications

Minimum Requirements:

  • Proven experience (5+ years) as a Software Engineer or in a similar capacity.
  • Strong programming skills in Python (additional languages are advantageous).
  • Solid understanding of software development principles, including data structures, algorithms, and design patterns.
  • Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, and familiarity with cloud-native development.
  • Hands-on experience with CI/CD tools and automated testing frameworks.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to learn and adapt quickly.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a remote team environment.
  • Self-motivated, proactive, and able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with infrastructure as code (IaC) tools like Terraform or CloudFormation.
  • Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Familiarity with modern development practices such as DevOps and Agile methodologies.
  • Previous experience in building developer tools or internal platforms.
