Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified Mathematics Faculty member to join our team at Austin Community College. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching mathematics courses to a diverse student population, developing curriculum, and participating in departmental governance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Teach mathematics courses at the developmental and college level, utilizing a variety of instructional strategies to engage students and promote student success.
  • Develop and implement curriculum that is responsive to the needs of our students, including non-STEM alternatives to traditional algebra/calculus tracks and corequisite models for developmental-level students.
  • Participate in departmental responsibilities, including curriculum review and revision, program review, and assessment of student learning outcomes.
  • Evaluate student progress and provide clear, timely feedback that reflects program learning outcomes and departmental expectations.
  • Serve as a mentor to students in the Mathematics program and provide teaching and mentoring services that do not discriminate based on race, color, religion, sex, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, disability, age, protected veteran status, political affiliation, or other protected categories.
Requirements
  • Master's Degree in Mathematics or 18 graduate hours in Mathematics.
  • Experience using technology as an instructional aide to enhance learning.
  • Documented experience with active and applied teaching and learning methodologies.
  • A strong commitment to teaching in a community college setting, including teaching practices that reflect an understanding of the multicultural classroom and the benefits of cultural awareness and sensitivity in the classroom and the workplace.
Working Conditions

The work is routinely performed in a classroom or laboratory setting, and the employee is subject to standing, walking, sitting, and reaching for extended periods of time. The employee must work safely and follow safety rules, report unsafe working conditions and behavior, and take reasonable and prudent actions to prevent others from engaging in unsafe practices.

Salary Range

$69,787 - $94,871 (Based on a 10.5 month contract to start Fall 2025)
