Job Opportunity

Huston-Tillotson University seeks a highly qualified Mathematics Instructor to join our faculty. As a key member of our Mathematics Program, you will contribute to the academic success of our students by teaching a variety of Mathematics courses.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and deliver engaging and challenging course material to students of varying skill levels.
  • Prepare comprehensive syllabi and outlines for each course taught, ensuring a stimulating learning environment.
  • Encourage students in course-based undergraduate research in mathematics, fostering a culture of academic excellence.
  • Maintain regular office hours to support students' academic growth and provide guidance on their academic journey.
  • Advise and mentor Mathematics students, helping them achieve their academic and professional goals.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to develop and enhance the Mathematics Program, ensuring it remains competitive and up-to-date.
  • Participate in departmental and College meetings, contributing to the development of academic policies and initiatives.

Qualifications:

  • Master's or Ph.D. in Mathematics or Mathematics Education with a minimum of 18 hours of graduate-level mathematics courses.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Demonstrated potential for excellence in classroom teaching and the ability to adapt to diverse learning styles.
  • Proficiency in online communication tools, including learning management systems and online homework platforms.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and students.
  • Sensitivity to academic and cultural diversity, with a commitment to creating an inclusive learning environment.
