Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Academic Mentor to join our team in the Athletics Academics department. As a High Dosage Tutor, you will play a critical role in providing academic support to student athletes, helping them to achieve academic success and close any potential gaps.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend regular training sessions and meetings to stay up-to-date on best practices and program developments
  • Mentor and tutor student athletes on a weekly basis, providing individualized support and guidance
  • Meet with the Director on a regular basis to discuss student progress and receive feedback
  • Complete daily reports on student progress and provide data-driven insights to inform program development
  • Develop and implement strategic approaches to high dosage tutoring, aligned with program goals and objectives
  • Communicate effectively with the Coordinator and other team members to ensure seamless program delivery
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Director or Coordinator
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, with a minimum GPA of 3.0
  • Experience working as a tutor or mentor, preferably in an academic setting
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse groups
  • Ability to demonstrate a deep understanding of the subject matter and provide clear, concise explanations
  • Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations and challenges
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience working with student athletes or in a similar academic support role
  • Knowledge of university, conference, and NCAA rules and regulations
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong organizational and time management skills
