Licensed Veterinary Technician

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Veterinary Technician to join our team at Pine Point Animal Hospital. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and contributing to the overall success of our hospital.
Key Responsibilities- In-Patient Medical Care: Administer medications, assist with treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring, as well as place IV catheters, draw blood, and run lab tests.
- Anesthesia and Surgery: Prepare, induce, maintain, and monitor patients, as well as clean and sterilize anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments.
- Dentistry: Provide patient dental care, ultrasonic cleaning, and polishing, as well as assist with dental surgery.
- Radiology: Position patients and assist with radiographs, sending them via email for review.
- Laboratory Duties: Collect, prepare, and run or submit samples for requested tests, as well as read and record results when indicated.
- Client Communication: Provide patient updates, discharge instructions, and follow-up care for hospitalized patients.
- Client Education: Teach and educate clients on at-home care procedures.
- Veterinary Technician Appointments: Conduct blood draws for therapeutic monitoring and screening tests, as well as perform bandage changes, post-op checks, and suture removals.
- Clinic Technician: Assist with outpatient appointments, prepare and restock exam rooms, check patients in and out, take histories and vitals, and input data into patient medical records.
- Reception and Front Desk Duties: Answer phones, book appointments, admit and discharge patients, and assist with inventory control.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch, and climb, as well as manipulate up to 50 pounds and over 50 pounds with a coworker.
- Work Environment: Ability to work in a noisy environment with sounds from animals and equipment, as well as exposure to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medication/controlled substances.
