About the Role

Pine Point Animal Hospital is seeking a skilled Veterinary Technician to join our team on Saturdays only. As a key member of our animal care team, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and support to our veterinarians.

Key Responsibilities
  • Administer medications, assist with treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring
  • Place IV catheters, draw blood, run lab tests, and administer IV fluids
  • Clean, feed, and walk patients as needed
  • Assist with anesthesia, surgery, and dentistry procedures
  • Perform radiology duties, including positioning patients and sending radiographs via email
  • Collect, prepare, and run or submit samples for requested tests
  • Read and record results when indicated
  • Prepare invoices, discharge instructions, and client informational tools
  • Communicate with clients regarding hospitalized patients, provide follow-up care, and educate clients on at-home procedures
  • Assist with reception and front desk duties as needed
  • Train and mentor new team members
  • Assist with inventory control and prepare prescriptions
Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

  • A proficient skill set in anesthesia and anesthetic monitoring for general surgery and dentistry
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • The ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain accurate records
  • Physical stamina to stand, walk, and lift up to 50 pounds
About Us

Pine Point Animal Hospital is a 2-doctor practice that sees dogs, cats, and exotics. We offer a range of services, including ultrasound, digital x-ray, and Phovia. Our team is committed to providing exceptional patient care and a supportive learning environment for our veterinary professionals.

We utilize our techs as much as possible and encourage them to use the skills they've learned in tech school. Our aim is to expand our ultrasound services and provide Global Fast ultrasound training to the appropriate candidate.

We have a lot of great in-house lab equipment, including the new Imagyst. The Imagyst is the new artificially intelligent cytology reader. It reads ear cytologies, fecals, urines, and fine needle aspirates for you.
