We are in search of a skilled professional who can maintain our high standards of medical excellence. Responsibilities include placing IV catheters in surgical patients, conducting pre-surgical blood tests, and using advanced surgical monitoring tools such as capnographs, SPO2 monitors, blood pressure monitors, and ECGs.


We strongly advocate for the full utilization of our Veterinary Technicians, enabling them to apply their academic training within the legal scope of practice.

Our technicians are trained to be adaptable, assisting in various roles throughout the hospital.

Key Responsibilities:

Primary Duties:


Our Veterinary Technicians are responsible for inpatient medical care, including administering medications, assisting or performing treatments, diagnostics, and monitoring, placing IV catheters, drawing blood, conducting lab tests, administering IV fluids, and caring for patients as needed.

Anesthesia/Surgery – Our Veterinary Technicians prepare, induce, maintain, monitor, and recover patients, while also cleaning and sterilizing anesthesia equipment and surgical instruments.

Dentistry - Our Veterinary Technicians provide dental care, including ultrasonic cleaning and polishing, and assist the veterinarian with dental surgeries.

Radiology - Our Veterinary Technicians position patients for radiographs and assist with sending radiographs via email.


Laboratory Duties - Our Veterinary Technicians collect, prepare, and run or submit samples for requested tests, and read and record results as directed (fecals, urines, ear cytology, etc.) when requested by the veterinarian.

Preparing invoices, discharge instructions, and client educational materials

Client communication for hospitalized patients - providing updates, discharge instructions, and follow-up for certain patients.

Client education - teaching clients about at-home care procedures.

Veterinary Technician appointments - performing blood draws for therapeutic monitoring/screening tests, bandage changes, post-operative checks, and suture removals.


Clinic Technician - assisting the veterinarian with outpatient appointments, preparing, restocking, and cleaning exam rooms, checking patients in and out, taking histories and vitals, inputting data into patient medical records, and ensuring a smooth flow of outpatient appointments from check-in to discharge.

Assisting with reception/front desk duties as needed - answering phones, booking appointments, and admitting/discharging patients.

Training and mentoring new team members.

Inventory control - notifying the inventory manager when supplies are low, unpacking, and restocking medical supplies.

Preparing prescriptions - dispensing medications and refilling prescriptions.

Qualifications:

Physical Requirements:


The Veterinary Technician must be capable of standing, walking, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and climbing, as well as lifting and moving up to 50 pounds, and over 50 pounds with assistance.


The Veterinary Technician must endure prolonged periods of sitting, standing, and walking on hard surfaces.

The Veterinary Technician must possess sufficient mobility to perform duties in a hospital environment.


The Veterinary Technician must be able to work in a noisy environment with sounds from animals and equipment that can be moderately loud.


The Veterinary Technician will frequently encounter various pets that may bite or scratch, and may occasionally be exposed to anesthesia, radiation, biological hazards, and medications/controlled substances.


The Veterinary Technician must have good hand-eye coordination, dexterity, and visual acuity to operate equipment and use a keyboard.
