Position Overview

The Licensed Speech Therapist plays a crucial role in assessing and documenting the ongoing conditions of patients. This professional is responsible for creating and executing a tailored care plan that addresses the specific challenges faced by patients, while also involving their families in the process.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct initial and continuous evaluations of patients' speech and language abilities.
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment strategies that cater to identified issues.
  • Provide education and guidance to patients and their families about treatment options and progress.
  • Assist in planning and facilitating patient transitions from therapy services.
  • Oversee the activities of clinical fellows, students, and other support staff.
Qualifications

Education:
Master's Degree in Speech-Language Pathology or a related field.

Certification:
Must possess a Certificate of Clinical Competency (CCC) in Speech-Language Pathology from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association or have successfully completed the national examination and be in the process of fulfilling the Clinical Fellowship Year (CFY).

Experience:
A minimum of three (3) years of clinical experience in either inpatient or outpatient rehabilitation settings is required.

Essential Skills

This role demands strong critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal oversight. The ideal candidate must thrive in a high-pressure environment and respond appropriately to various situations.

Certifications

Must obtain AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification within 30 days of hire.

Licensure

Current licensure as a Speech-Language Pathologist in North Carolina is required.
