Job Overview

The Occupational Therapist is responsible for evaluating patients' capabilities to safely and effectively carry out daily living activities. This role involves creating tailored care plans that specify the type and frequency of therapeutic interventions.

Key Responsibilities
  • Implement treatment strategies utilizing suitable modalities.
  • Document both subjective and objective observations regarding patient progress.
  • Continuously assess and adjust the care plan as necessary, seeking consultation when required.
  • Provide education to patients and their families or caregivers about identified deficits.
  • Facilitate patient discharge from therapy services and provide guidance on the selection and use of adaptive equipment and support programs.
  • Supervise and assign tasks to certified occupational therapy assistants and therapy technicians in accordance with licensing laws and practice standards.
QualificationsEducation:
Bachelor's Degree in Occupational Therapy
Skills:
Demonstrated critical thinking abilities, sound judgment, and the capacity to operate with minimal oversight. Ability to function effectively in high-pressure situations and take appropriate actions.
Certifications:
AHA Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required within 30 days of employment.
Licenses:
Occupational Therapist license in North Carolina.
Professional Affiliations:
Recommended membership with the American Occupational Therapy Association.
