Job Description:

The primary purpose of this position is to lead the development and implementation of an Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap for the State of Oregon. This involves a comprehensive engagement process with various stakeholders, including tribal nations, local governments, and interested parties. The Roadmap will establish a transparent, equitable, and community-driven process for planning, siting, developing, and operating floating offshore wind energy projects and their associated infrastructure.

This position will be responsible for leading the state to conduct an open, transparent, proactive, and comprehensive dialogue around floating offshore wind energy. The goal is to represent all of Oregon's interests in state, tribal, regional, and federal planning and decision-making, resulting in a Roadmap that meets the needs of all stakeholders.

The successful candidate will have a strong understanding of offshore wind policies, regulations, and projects. They will be able to communicate effectively with stakeholders, both verbally and in writing, and have strong coordination and public relations skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development and implementation of the Offshore Wind Energy Roadmap
  • Conduct a comprehensive engagement process with stakeholders
  • Develop and maintain cooperative and harmonious working relationships with others
  • Ability to engage with stakeholders representing a multitude of perspectives
  • Working independently and carrying out assignments without detailed instructions

Minimum Qualifications:

  • A master's degree in urban or Regional Planning, Public Administration, Social Science, Civil Engineering, Architecture, Economics, Geography or a related field
  • Three years of experience
