Job Description

**Job Summary:**

We are seeking an experienced scientist or engineer with a solid mathematical foundation to focus on studying the effects of electromagnetic (EM) threats from nuclear or other sources.

**Key Responsibilities:**

  • Understand and simulate EM environments to estimate the impact of EM fields and ionizing radiation on electronic systems.
  • Research hardening methods to protect sensitive equipment.
  • Write and troubleshoot C++, C# code for our flagship EM prediction software tool running in Windows or Linux.
  • Script via MATLAB or similar to prototype a new algorithm or model.
  • Suggest improvements to existing EM propagation models.
  • Write assessments for and present program work to government customers.

**Requirements:**

  • Bachelor's in Engineering, Physics, or related science with 8-10 years of related experience or a Master's in Engineering, Physics, or related science with 6-8 years of related experience.
  • Programming expertise in C# or C++, including work on optimizing code for HPCs.
  • Strong analytic, written, and oral communication skills.
  • Experience evaluating and coding mathematical models.
  • Must be a United States citizen eligible to receive and maintain a Secret or higher Department of Defense Security Clearance.

**Preferred Qualifications:**

  • PhD in Engineering, Physics, or related science.
  • Prior history of successful independent research.
  • Prior experience with Fast Fourier Transforms (FFTs), GPU programming, and Bayesian statistical inference.
  • Ability to tackle novel technical problems with limited guidance.
