Job Title: Senior Research Administrator

University of California, Santa Barbara is seeking a highly skilled Senior Research Administrator to join our team. As a key member of our research administration team, you will be responsible for all aspects of contracts and grants administration in the Gevirtz Graduate School of Education.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide expert guidance and support to faculty, staff, and students on proposal preparation and award administration.
  • Supervise the work of Contracts and Grants Analysts and collaborate with the Associate Dean for Research and Outreach.
  • Act as the lead point of contact and liaison to the UCSB Office of Research and other campus units.
  • Analyze and interpret Federal and State requests for proposals, as well as those from Foundations and other entities.
  • Work closely with Principal Investigators to plan, recommend, and coordinate execution of courses of action.
  • Contribute to efforts to train faculty, staff, and students on relevant policies and procedures.
Requirements:
  • Bachelor's degree in a related field and/or equivalent experience/training.
  • 1-3 years of administrative office work experience.
  • 1-3 years of financial management experience, including budgeting, analysis, projections, and reporting.
  • 1-3 years of experience preparing complex proposal budgets and support documents.
  • 1-3 years of experience with contract and grant administration (pre- and post-award).
