Front of House Manager Job Description

At Fernwood Tavern, we are seeking a detail-oriented Front of House Manager to oversee comprehensive front of house operations, ensuring exceptional service and efficiency. The ideal candidate will thrive in managing daily service, inventory, and scheduling, while maintaining high standards of customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee all front of house operations, ensuring seamless service delivery and alignment with our brand's standards.
  • Develop and implement policies and procedures to increase operational efficiency and optimize profitability.
  • Manage staff scheduling, ensuring optimal staffing levels to support service demands.
  • Conduct regular training sessions with front of house staff to maintain high standards of customer service.
  • Manage inventory of supplies, including linens, utensils, and bar inventory, ensuring the restaurant is well-equipped for daily operations.
  • Oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the dining area, ensuring a welcoming atmosphere.
  • Handle customer complaints, ensuring prompt resolution and guest satisfaction.
  • Collaborate with the Kitchen Manager and senior staff to synchronize service and promotional activities.
  • Analyze front of house operational costs and identify strategies to optimize profitability.
  • Monitor compliance with health and safety regulations.
  • Prepare reports on customer satisfaction and front of house operations for senior management.
Requirements:
  • Proven experience as a Front of House Manager or similar managerial role in a high-volume restaurant.
  • Exceptional organizational and leadership skills, with the ability to oversee multiple aspects of front of house operations.
  • Strong attention to detail with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
  • Excellent communication skills, capable of building strong relationships with staff, management, and guests.
  • Ability to effectively manage inventory and scheduling.
  • Proficient in restaurant management software and MS Office.
  • A commitment to continuous improvement in all areas of front of house operations.
