Corteva Agriscience is a leader in the development of innovative agriculture products, and we are seeking a highly skilled Patent Agent to join our Intellectual Property team.

This role will provide an exciting opportunity to work closely with our in-house legal team, brilliant scientists, and business partners involved in various world-class technologies, including advanced breeding, genomics, CRISPR, and artificial intelligence.

As a Patent Agent, you will be responsible for drafting and prosecuting patent applications, conducting patentability and landscape analyses, and assisting with Freedom to Operate analyses.

Key qualifications for this role include a strong background in quantitative genetics, molecular biology, biochemistry, breeding, or a related bioinformatics computer science discipline, as well as a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in drafting and/or prosecuting patent applications as a Registered Patent Agent, preferably in a law firm.

Responsibilities:

  • Familiarity with Patent administrative proceedings
  • Inventor education
  • Patentability and landscape analysis
  • Assistance in Freedom to Operate analysis

Requirements:

  • Post-graduate R&D laboratory experience for 2 or more years
  • In-house legal department experience
  • Experience with developing and implementing IP strategies and IP portfolio analyses
