We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join our team at Medstar Georgetown University Hospital. As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will deliver patient-centered acute nursing care to individuals with a variety of medical issues or who are preparing for or recovering from surgery.
Responsibilities- Organize and prioritize patient care under the direction of the Registered Nurse.
- Establish effective relationships with patients and families to facilitate the development of a patient-centered care plan.
- Collaborate with other healthcare team members to implement a plan of care and education to maintain and restore health and prevent complications.
- Provide direct nursing care to patients, including administering medications, performing activities of daily living, and maintaining a safe and orderly patient/unit environment.
- Participate in the orientation of staff members and students, and contribute to the implementation of unit objectives and performance improvement activities.
- High School Diploma or GED required.
- Graduate of an accredited School of Practical Nursing.
- 1-2 years experience within a Rehabilitation or acute setting required, or new graduates considered based on student clinical experiences.
- LPN - Licensed Practical Nurse - State Licensure required.
- CPR - Cardiac Pulmonary Resuscitation required.
