Acute Care LPN Orthopedics Specialist

About the Role:
We are seeking a skilled Licensed Practical Nurse to join our team on our Surgical Specialties/Orthopedics & Limb Salvage Inpatient Unit at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital.
As a key member of our interdisciplinary team, you will deliver patient-centered acute nursing care to individuals with a variety of medical issues or who are preparing for or recovering from surgery.
You will work closely with physicians, nurse practitioners, physical therapists, and clinical pharmacists to implement a plan of care and education to maintain and restore health and prevent complications.
Responsibilities include organizing, prioritizing, and caring for groups of patients under the direction of the Registered Nurse, establishing effective relationships with patients and families, and providing patient and family education about measures of health promotion, maintenance, and restoration to promote comfort.
Additionally, you will provide direct nursing care to patients as assigned, including collecting assessment data, administering medications, and performing activities of daily living.
Requirements include a High School Diploma or GED, a Bachelor's degree from an accredited School of Practical Nursing, and 1-2 years of experience within a Rehabilitation or acute setting.
