Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Staff Accountant to join our team at Little Havana Activities and Nutrition Centers of Dade County, Inc. As a key member of our accounting team, you will be responsible for preparing and analyzing financial records, financial statements, taxes, and other financial reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare and examine accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to ensure accuracy and compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Develop and analyze financial reports to provide insights and recommendations to management on business operations and budgets.
  • Perform audits to ensure adherence to standard requirements and identify areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement new processes to improve financial efficiency and accuracy.
  • Report analysis and findings to the management team and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Collaborate with the Human Resources department to prepare monthly Workers Compensation calculations and bi-monthly payroll.
  • Review and recommend changes to General Accounting processes to improve efficiency, accuracy, and timeliness.
  • Provide backup support to other members of the Accounting team as needed.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field.
  • Previous experience in accounting or related field.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • Experience with current computer accounting programs and reporting tools.
  • Detail-oriented and deadline-driven with strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Bilingual (English/Spanish) a plus.
