Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Records Clerk to join our team at the City of San Angelo Texas. As a Records Clerk, you will be responsible for processing reports and other legal information and documents for the San Angelo Police Department (SAPD), entering data into automated records management systems, and providing information within the scope of authority.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform basic clerical and administrative duties in accordance with SAPD procedures and City policy, including data entry, record keeping, and maintaining files.
- Receive, verify, and enter SAPD data into database systems; copy and distribute reports.
- Provide information and assistance to the public and others having business with SAPD within the scope of authority; may collect fees and issue permits, and balance cash drawers.
- Process reports, documents, and forms; review documents and data for compliance and accuracy.
- Maintain the absolute confidentiality of all records and information.
- Hours: Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
- Regular and timely attendance is required.
- Other related duties as required.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent; and one year of clerical experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Must possess a valid driver license with a good driving record.
- Applicants with an out-of-state driver license must provide an original certified driving record from the state of driving licensure.
- Successful completion of a background investigation and polygraph is required.
- Typing test required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- City policies and procedures.
- Basic regulations governing the release of information from law enforcement agency records.
Work Environment:
Work is performed in a standard office environment.
