SATCOM RF Engineer

Job Summary

SAIC is seeking a highly skilled RF and SATCOM Systems Engineer to support an enterprise SATCOM program. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of satellite communications system fundamentals and principles, as well as experience in performing engineering analyses and documenting results in support of operational activities and test equipment deployments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the design, development, and integration of SATCOM systems, including the testing and validation of waveforms and devices in lab and operational environments.
  • Provide day-to-day test and operational support, including lab test support, end-to-end device and waveform integration, performance of spectral surveys to enable frequency selection recommendations, and system performance monitoring and characterization.
  • Collaborate with SATCOM system users in the field to provide timely technical support and troubleshooting, and to support the development and implementation of new electronic device technologies and software defined radio (SDR) developments.
  • Conduct engineering analyses and document results to support operational activities and test equipment deployments, and to provide recommendations for system improvements and optimization.
  • Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the successful integration and deployment of SATCOM systems, and to provide technical expertise and guidance to support the development and implementation of new technologies and systems.

Requirements

  • Active TS/SCI with polygraph.
  • BS in engineering, computer systems, or relevant technical area and 2+ years as a systems engineer.
  • 2+ years SATCOM experience.
  • CONUS and OCONUS travel may be required
