Job Summary

The Associate Vice President for Health and Wellbeing and Executive Director of the Counseling and Wellness Center is a senior leadership position responsible for providing strategic direction and oversight for key areas within the Division of Student Life that focus on student health and wellbeing. The successful candidate will have a doctoral degree in Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology, and at least seven years of experience in university counseling centers with significant administrative experience. The ideal candidate will be licensed or license eligible as a mental health professional or psychologist in the state of Florida within one year of start date in position.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides direct supervision and guidance to the Disability Resource Center, GatorWell Health Promotion Services, the Counseling and Wellness Center, and indirect supervision to the Care Team in the Dean of Students Office.
• Ensures that students' health and wellbeing is the strategic focus of the work for all departments of responsibility and embedded into the culture of the University where possible.
• Supports departmental leadership in the development and expenditure of budgeted funds totaling approximately $12 million.
• Provides leadership, vision, and strategic planning to champion efforts that promote students' overall health and wellbeing; and works to collaborate with university partners in creating new and enhancing current efforts related to the promotion of healthy behaviors, mental well-being, and student care.
• Assists in providing leadership to the Division of Student Life through the Executive Team; shares insight and data with the Vice President for Student Life to assist in Divisional strategic planning.
• Works collaboratively with other departmental leadership within the Division of Student Life to promote student health and wellbeing for all students.
• Serves on university committees and task forces as needed.
• Represents the university in state, regional, and national professional organizations.

Requirements

• Doctoral degree in Counselor Education, Counseling Psychology, or Clinical Psychology from an APA accredited or CACREP accredited doctoral program.
• Seven years' experience in university counseling centers with evidence of significant administrative experience.
• Licensed or license eligible as a mental health professional or psychologist in the state of Florida within one year of start date in position.
• Clinical licensure and supervision is necessary to meet Psychology Internship Program requirements and maintain Center accreditations.
• Demonstrated expertise in providing effective collegiate health and well-being services and education within a large campus environment that represents students, families, and a campus community from a variety of backgrounds.
• Understanding of state-of-the-art technology as applied to the delivery of health and wellbeing services and programs.
• Experience in dealing with crisis at all levels.
• Documented history of positive and collaborative working relationships.
• Team player.
• Excellent communication skills and leadership ability.
• Ability to multi-task and excel in a fast-paced, evolving environment.
