GENERAL FUNCTION:

The Branch Operations Leader is tasked with guiding and mentoring a team dedicated to maintaining consistent operational practices and delivering exceptional customer onboarding and relationship management. This role is pivotal in enhancing the financial center's portfolio while ensuring a superior customer experience. The leader will oversee sales and service support, daily operations, and staffing requirements to uphold high-quality standards. Each financial center is categorized based on various metrics such as household count, revenue, and potential growth. The Branch Operations Leader is responsible for the sustainability and expansion of the business, focusing on increasing deposits, assets, fee-based services, and nurturing both new and existing consumer and business clientele.

The Branch Operations Leader will engage in a thorough, tailored onboarding and training program, which includes rotations through Operations, Sales & Service, Lending, Small Business, and Management. This role offers a comprehensive learning experience to prepare candidates for a leadership position within a financial center.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Complete the designated onboarding roadmap and all associated activities from initiation to program completion, including achieving a Consultative Selling Skills Certification.
  • Develop proficiency in enhancing relationships with Consumer and Small Business customers by delivering memorable experiences.
  • Acquire knowledge and maintain a comprehensive understanding of Fifth Third's products, services, processes, and internal resources to effectively guide and lead the team.
  • Master the consultative sales approach to proactively identify the financial needs of current or prospective customers and recommend suitable solutions.
  • Understand how to create an integrated business strategy ensuring all customers receive a Financial Needs Assessment (FNA) and are paired with the most suitable banker for ongoing support.
  • Learn to recruit, develop, coach, and lead a team that embodies our Core Values and business strategies.
  • Foster a collaborative culture that works closely with business partners.
  • Engage in community-benefiting activities.
  • Adhere to the Bancorp Code of Business Conduct and Ethics, modeling the ethical behavior expected from all employees.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide employees with timely, constructive feedback; assist in their development to reach full potential and offer challenging opportunities that promote career growth; recognize and reward employee achievements.

MINIMUM KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

  • Minimum of two (2) years of leadership experience in a banking center within a sales-focused environment.
  • Ability to represent Fifth Third Bank professionally in both verbal and written communication.
  • Competence in analyzing credit and financial data.
  • Proven ability to execute and coach sales initiatives successfully.
  • Exhibits strong business acumen.
  • Demonstrated decision-making capabilities.
  • This position requires S.A.F.E. Act registration at the time of employment through the Nationwide Mortgage Licensing System (NMLS).

WORKING CONDITIONS:

  • Standard office environment.
  • Prolonged periods of computer screen usage.
  • Occasional travel within the Bancorp footprint for meetings and training.
