Role Description

WSP is embarking on a search for a Senior Geotechnical Engineering Leader. Engage in significant projects with our Earth & Environment Team and contribute to a dynamic organization dedicated to fulfilling client objectives and overcoming challenges.

Your Contributions
  • Lead a team of engineers and geologists, fostering professional growth and mentorship.
  • Oversee the collection, analysis, and interpretation of data from various sources including physical work sites, soil and water samples, surveys, and GIS data for project development and design.
  • Utilize advanced geotechnical engineering techniques to enhance various phases of infrastructure projects, from concept to operation.
  • Conduct comprehensive investigations and inspections of site conditions, ensuring compliance with applicable standards and regulations.
  • Develop detailed construction plans, specifications, and cost estimates, coordinating with stakeholders throughout the process.
  • Manage the design and construction phases of infrastructure projects, ensuring adherence to safety and quality standards.
  • Implement innovative technologies and strategies to enhance project outcomes and ensure safety for end-users.
  • Supervise large-scale geotechnical projects, managing budgets, timelines, and performance metrics.
  • Review engineering designs and permit applications to ensure compliance with regulations and best practices.
  • Engage with public and private entities to address engineering and construction challenges.
  • Prepare technical reports and presentations that effectively communicate findings and recommendations.
  • Build a client base for high-level geotechnical services while identifying business development opportunities.
  • Stay updated on the latest advancements in geotechnical engineering practices.
  • Collaborate with professionals across various disciplines on federally and locally funded projects.
  • Uphold ethical standards and responsible decision-making in all business practices.
  • Perform additional duties as required by business needs.
Candidate Profile

Essential Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil Engineering or a closely related field.
  • 10+ years of relevant experience in engineering and geotechnical design.
  • Engineer license required (multi-state preferred).
  • In-depth knowledge of geotechnical engineering principles and practices.
  • Experience in infrastructure planning, design, and management.
  • Strong understanding of construction laws, codes, and compliance requirements.
  • Proficient in technical computations and engineering principles.
  • Experience in conducting inspections and investigations in construction and design.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills for diverse audiences.
  • Strong leadership abilities with a focus on quality assurance.
  • Proficiency in technical writing and design software.
  • Critical thinking and problem-solving skills for effective decision-making.
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate subcontractors and ensure project efficiency.
  • Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to company policies.
  • Flexibility to adapt to various schedules and project demands.
  • Willingness to travel as needed for project requirements.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Geotechnical Engineering.
  • Basic First Aid and Adult CPR training is a plus.
