About the Role:
We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Pharmacy Intern to join our team at Advocate Health. As a Pharmacy Intern, you will have the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in a fast-paced retail pharmacy environment.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist pharmacists with medication preparation and dispensing
- Interview patients to obtain medication histories
- Perform clerical duties to ensure efficient pharmacy operations
- Receives and interprets medication/prescription orders and enters them into the pharmacy computer system
- Participate in mock job/residency interviews with CV review
- Opportunity to hold site and/or system pharmacy intern leadership positions
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in an accredited or approved program in Pharmacy
- Good communication and customer service skills
- Strong attention to details
- Ability to maintain confidentiality
Working Conditions:
- Operates all equipment necessary to perform the job
- Frequent fine motor motion of hands and wrists to operate keyboard and manipulate syringes
- Lifts, carries, and/or pushes/pulls various items (bags, boxes, carts, etc.) while utilizing proper technique
