Senior Business Development Manager/Director – Biologics CDMO

Job Summary:

Barrington James is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Business Development Manager/Director to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in biologics CDMO, with a minimum of 8 years in business development.

Key Responsibilities:

Business Development:

  • Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical and academic sectors.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
  • Lead the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.

Client Relationship Management:

  • Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
  • Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements.

Market Analysis:

  • Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends.
  • Identify emerging opportunities and potential threats in the biologics CDMO landscape.

Collaboration:

  • Work closely with technical teams to understand and communicate the company's capabilities and services.
  • Collaborate with marketing to develop compelling proposals and presentations.

Negotiation & Contract Management:

  • Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
  • Manage contract discussions and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Qualifications:

Education:

  • Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology). Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.

Experience:

  • Minimum of 8 years of business development experience in the biologics CDMO sector.
  • Proven track record of successfully selling biologics services to pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions.

Skills & Competencies:

  • Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate complex biologics processes and technologies.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
  • Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.

Other Requirements:

  • Based on the East Coast with the ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
  • Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
