Senior Business Development Manager/Director – Biologics CDMO
Job Summary:Barrington James is seeking a highly experienced and motivated Senior Business Development Manager/Director to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a robust background in biologics CDMO, with a minimum of 8 years in business development.
Key Responsibilities:Business Development:
- Identify and pursue new business opportunities within the pharmaceutical and academic sectors.
- Develop and execute strategic business development plans to achieve company growth objectives.
- Lead the entire sales cycle from prospecting to closing deals.
Client Relationship Management:
- Build and maintain strong, long-lasting relationships with key stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Understand client needs and tailor solutions to meet their specific requirements.
Market Analysis:
- Conduct thorough market research and competitive analysis to stay ahead of industry trends.
- Identify emerging opportunities and potential threats in the biologics CDMO landscape.
Collaboration:
- Work closely with technical teams to understand and communicate the company's capabilities and services.
- Collaborate with marketing to develop compelling proposals and presentations.
Negotiation & Contract Management:
- Lead negotiations with clients, ensuring mutually beneficial agreements.
- Manage contract discussions and ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in a scientific or technical field (e.g., Biology, Biochemistry, Biotechnology). Advanced degree (Master's or Ph.D.) preferred.
Experience:
- Minimum of 8 years of business development experience in the biologics CDMO sector.
- Proven track record of successfully selling biologics services to pharmaceutical companies and academic institutions.
Skills & Competencies:
- Strong technical background with the ability to understand and communicate complex biologics processes and technologies.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
- Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
- Strategic thinker with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficient in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Other Requirements:
- Based on the East Coast with the ability to travel up to 60% of the time.
- Self-motivated, results-driven, and able to work independently as well as part of a team.
