Job Summary

Pediatrix Medical Group is seeking a highly skilled Diagnostic Medical Sonographer to join our team in Maternal Fetal Medicine. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will provide diagnostic ultrasound tests for patients in a high-risk pregnancy setting.

Responsibilities
  • Perform high-quality ultrasound tests to acquire anatomical, pathological, and physiological data for interpretation by a physician.
  • Work independently and collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to provide comprehensive care to pregnant women.
  • Escort patients and families to and from examination rooms, ensuring a smooth and efficient experience.
  • Explain exams to patients and families prior to commencement, ensuring cooperation and optimal test results.
  • Maintain accurate patient charts and records, as well as sonographic data and observations made during procedures.
  • Prepare preliminary reports for physician review and signature.
  • Review studies with physicians and assist with procedures such as amniocentesis and chorionic villus sampling.
  • Code services performed and maintain proper operation of ultrasound equipment.
  • Recognize equipment malfunctions and take corrective action.
  • Perform related duties as directed.
Requirements
  • Minimum one year of experience as an ultrasound technician in OB/GYN and/or MFM setting.
  • Strong written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Skilled in operating ultrasound equipment.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; graduate of an accredited sonography program preferred.
  • ARDMS OB/GYN certified or eligible.
  • Fetal echo certification or eligible to obtain within 12 months of hire.
