Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer

We are seeking a skilled Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer to join our team at HCA Florida Fort Walton-Destin Hospital. As a Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer, you will play a critical role in obtaining diagnostic cardiac ultrasound images in three modes: M mode, color flow Doppler, and two-dimensional mode. You will follow the imaging protocol recommended by IACEL and assist the physician with obtaining images during Transesophageal Echo's.

This position requires a strong knowledge and proficiency in the use of diagnostic echocardiography techniques to assist in the diagnosis of patient disorders. You will prioritize and organize patient flow to ensure best utilization of time and demonstrate effective safety practices. Establishing and maintaining a good rapport and professional relationship with fellow employees, other departments, and Medical Staff is essential.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Obtain diagnostic cardiac ultrasound images in three modes
  • Follow imaging protocol recommended by IACEL
  • Assist physician with obtaining images during Transesophageal Echo's
  • Prioritize and organize patient flow
  • Demonstrate effective safety practices

Requirements:

  • Basic Cardiac Life Support certification within 30 days of employment start date
  • Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer or Registered Cardiac Sonographer certification within 1 year of employment start date
  • Graduate of an approved/ accredited School Diagnostic Cardiac Sonography or completion of Cardiac Credentialing International program
