Position Overview

Senior Field Superintendent for Major Projects

Key Responsibilities

The ideal candidate will be a dynamic self-starter with a robust work ethic. This role demands a motivated, results-oriented individual who pays attention to detail and thrives in a team environment. As a Senior Field Superintendent, your responsibilities will encompass providing technical solutions, ensuring job site safety, overseeing technicians, and supporting new installation sales initiatives.

Success in this position requires expertise in meeting customer expectations and optimizing profitability; exceptional communication, financial insight, business development, and management capabilities are essential.

The Senior Field Superintendent will also need to effectively address customer issues, adjust workforce levels as necessary, and train employees on the company's quality, productivity, and safety standards.

Additional Duties Include:

  • Fostering a collaborative team environment by leading field technicians.
  • Overseeing the training and development of field technicians on established processes, safety protocols, tools, and standards through consistent communication and site visits.
  • Encouraging strong communication among team members while maintaining positive relationships with local unions.
  • Ensuring that each installation project adheres to company quality and safety standards, as well as all contractual obligations.
  • Monitoring project installation progress and driving efficiency through regular site visits for progress updates.
  • Conducting installation surveys, which may involve navigating multiple flights of stairs to access motor rooms, pits, and shaftways.
  • Performing daily site readiness inspections with general contractors prior to equipment delivery and project initiation.
  • Implementing customer and company standards for quality, performance reliability, and passenger safety for new installation projects.
  • Assisting the local sales and project management teams in estimating new installation bids, participating in customer job progress meetings, and addressing customer complaints.
  • Promoting a culture of teamwork and commitment to quality among all staff and field personnel.
  • Engaging in company professional development programs to enhance knowledge of elevator products, services, and procedures.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree; MBA or similar qualification is advantageous.
  • 5+ years of experience in managing major projects within the construction sector.
  • Strong understanding of elevator systems.
  • Experience in cross-functional roles involving direct and indirect reports.
  • Proficiency in construction project cost forecasting.
  • Familiarity with SAP, MS Office, and Lotus Notes.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience in project management and capacity planning.
  • Ability to manage internal processes effectively.
  • Strong business acumen.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office, MS Project, and SAP, with advanced skills in MS Excel.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with a diverse range of individuals across various levels and disciplines.
  • Willingness to travel domestically.
