Position Overview:
Wheatland Bank is in search of a dedicated Banking Customer Service Associate to play a vital role in our organization. KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
Facilitates retail and commercial deposits by ensuring all necessary documentation is accurately completed.


Processes check cashing, savings withdrawals, and cash advances; verifies that all required authorizations are in place and within established limits; exercises judgment in handling questionable transactions.

Utilizes computer systems to manage account activities, check balances, and troubleshoot issues.

Assists with night deposit functions; logs, bags, and processes deposits; manages change orders; issues receipts and returns bags to clients.

Promotes the Bank's additional products and services, directing clients to the appropriate personnel as needed.

Issues cashier's checks.

Handles safe deposit responsibilities by regulating access and aiding customers.

Processes stop payment requests and hold orders.

Accepts payments for loans.

Balances cash drawers daily and ensures cash returned to the vault is accurate.

Delivers effective customer service and aids in problem resolution within established authority.

Maintains records and logs; prepares wire transfers, and organizes mail or reports as necessary.

Answers phone calls and directs inquiries to the correct Bank staff.

May compile data and prepare various reports (e.g., currency transactions, returned items, overdrafts, monthly audits, etc.)

Processes traveler's checks, ATM deposits, change orders, and corrections to deposit slips.

May assist in the daily opening and closing of the vault; helps balance vault currency and coin.

Copies, scans, and faxes documents for filing and distribution to relevant personnel.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

Education and Experience:
High School Diploma or Equivalent

Experience in Cash Handling Preferred

Experience in Customer Service Preferred

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to operate in a professional and confidential manner.

Basic ten-key proficiency

Ability to follow instructions provided in written, oral, or diagram form.

Strong verbal communication skills.

Ability to effectively represent our organization to clients and colleagues.

Ability to perform basic arithmetic operations.

Dependability in attendance during scheduled shifts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Must be able to perform work indoors in a climate-controlled environment with moderate noise levels.

The employee is occasionally required to:
stand; walk; and lift or reach with hands and arms.

Must be able to operate routine office equipment including computer terminals and keyboards, telephones, copiers, facsimiles, and calculators. Must be able to routinely perform work on computer for an average of 6-8 hours per day, when necessary. Must be able to work extended hours or travel off site whenever required or requested by management. Must be capable of regular, reliable and timely attendance. Must be capable of climbing / descending stairs in an emergency situation.

Specific lifting abilities required by this job include: The employee is constantly required to stand and walk.

Exerting up to 25 pounds of force occasionally, and/or up to 10 pounds of force frequently, and/or a negligible amount of force constantly to move objects.

If the use of arm and/or leg controls requires exertion of forces greater than that for sedentary work and the worker sits most of the time, the job is rated for light work.


Specific vision abilities required by this job include: The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading; visual inspection involving small defects, small parts, and/or operation/inspection of machines and/or using measurement devices at distances close to the eyes.


Compensation and Benefits:
The salary range for this position is $17.50 to $21.50 per hour, based on relevant experience.
