Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee and manage the daily operations of claims personnel:
  • Directs team members and provides guidance on case management. Allocates and reviews assignments.
  • Conducts thorough investigations and maintains oversight of claims:
  • Evaluates and determines coverage and liability.
  • Collects and assesses necessary documentation (such as reports, policies, appraisals, releases, statements, and other relevant materials) during the claims investigation process.
  • Strives for effective resolution of claims files, participating in arbitrations, mediations, depositions, or trials as required.
  • May authorize settlements/reserves within established limits and provides recommendations to management for cases that exceed personal authority.
  • Ensures timely and accurate issuance of claims payments.
  • Guarantees that claims processing adheres to relevant statutes, regulations, and legal standards, while following all applicable company protocols.
  • Guides reporting staff on claims files and extends settlement authority as needed after reviewing documentation.
  • May establish reserves and prepare recommendations or reports for Corporate Claims or senior leadership.
  • Accountable for the performance and development of team members, actively participating in talent selection, training, and performance evaluations. Provides onboarding for new team members.
  • Performs additional responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications

Education: Bachelor's Degree or equivalent professional experience.

Field of Study: Liberal Arts, Business, or a related field.

Experience: Typically requires 3 to 5 years of relevant experience, with 0 to 2 years in a leadership capacity.
