This role is designed to function as the Financial Literacy Program Specialist for Cornell Cooperative Extension Association. The individual will be responsible for executing Financial Literacy initiatives as part of a comprehensive suite of educational programs aimed at enhancing financial well-being for military families.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Program Implementation: Deliver established Financial Literacy programming in collaboration with the Soldier and Family Readiness Division. This includes facilitating workshops on topics such as credit management, budgeting, and home buying.
  • Individualized Support: Provide personalized financial education sessions, assisting service members and their families in creating tailored budgets and financial plans.
  • Content Development: Generate educational materials related to financial literacy for various communication channels, including newsletters and community outreach.
  • Community Engagement: Foster relationships with local organizations and agencies to promote financial literacy resources and programs.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent experience in a relevant field.
  • Experience in financial education or related areas.
  • Valid driver's license and ability to meet travel requirements.
  • Flexibility to work varied hours, including evenings and weekends as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Knowledge of personal finance management, investment basics, and retirement planning.
  • Experience working with diverse communities and understanding their unique financial needs.
