General Job Function: The Senior Financial Accountant is responsible for communicating policies and procedures that promote accountability and effective stewardship of CCM's resources. This role involves processing all transactional accounting data, executing general accounting tasks, and providing both internal and external stakeholders with financial analyses and reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage transactional accounting data for designated areas, including but not limited to accounts payable, payroll, cash management, cash receipts, and petty cash.
  • Conduct account reconciliations for assigned balance sheet and income statement accounts.
  • Prepare journal entries and account analyses as needed to ensure proper accountability and internal control of CCM's resources.
  • Execute monthly closing procedures to deliver financial results to management on a monthly basis.
  • Offer accounting support to internal and external stakeholders, including reports, analyses, and assistance.
  • Contribute to the museum's initiatives in diversity, equity, access, and inclusion, ensuring that DEAI principles are integrated into all interactions with staff, visitors, and external partners.
  • Demonstrate enthusiasm for continuous learning and skill development; engage in institution-offered training and work within DEAI frameworks.
  • Undertake special projects as required.

Position Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accountancy or equivalent experience.
  • Five years of experience in accounts receivable, accounts payable, journal entries, and reconciliations without a degree, or one to two years of accounting experience with a degree.
  • Strong organizational abilities.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of accounting principles and fundamentals.
  • Proficient computer skills with demonstrated expertise in spreadsheet applications.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • High standards of ethics, dependability, and reliability.
  • Possess an equity mindset and cultural humility.
  • Positive attitude and a collaborative spirit.
  • Strong values of teamwork, cooperation, and professionalism are essential.

Salary Range: $50,000-$55,000 annually.

Work Schedule: This is a full-time, exempt position, averaging 37.5 hours per week. The role offers a hybrid work arrangement with three days on-site and two days remote.

Benefits:

This position is eligible for competitive medical, dental, vision, life, long-term disability, and short-term disability insurance, along with a 401k plan after six months of service with matching contributions, pending eligibility. Additionally, employees receive 14 days of paid time off and 12 sick days annually, accrued monthly.
