Job Title: Cashier

We are seeking a skilled and customer-focused Cashier to join our team at PCC Community Markets. As a Cashier, you will be responsible for providing excellent customer service while accurately and efficiently processing orders and payments at the register.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Provide exceptional customer service to our customers
  • Accurately and efficiently scan and key items into the register
  • Receive and process all payments according to PCC standards
  • Perform basic math skills and proficiently use the 10-key
  • Communicate effectively about PCC's membership and programs
  • Handle merchandise returns
  • Bag groceries according to PCC bagging guidelines
  • Maintain an orderly appearance at the register
  • Ensure department sanitation, cleanliness, and safety standards are met
Qualifications and Skills:
  • Proven ability to provide excellent customer service
  • Available to work a variety of shifts, including mornings, mid-day, evening shifts, and weekends
  • Must demonstrate basic math skills and proficiency at 10-key
  • Excellent attention to detail and multitasking skills
  • Previous retail or public customer contact experience desired; background in cashiering or retail grocery industry preferred
  • Must be able to meet physical demands, including standing, bending, twisting, repetitive motion, and lifting 10-40lbs regularly
  • A current Food Worker Card from the Washington State Department of Health is required
  • Must be at least 18 years of age
