Oncology Clinical Research Specialist

Position Overview

The University of California, San Francisco is seeking a dedicated Oncology Clinical Research Specialist to independently manage and coordinate clinical research protocols. This role involves working closely with the Oncology Research Manager, Clinical Research Center Director, and Principal Investigators (PIs) to ensure the effective execution of multiple concurrent oncology studies in compliance with established guidelines.


Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee the management and coordination of oncology clinical research studies, ensuring adherence to research protocols and regulatory standards.
  • Act as a liaison between various departments, facilitating data and specimen management.
  • Prepare and maintain comprehensive databases, datasets, and reports related to study outcomes.
  • Coordinate staff schedules and assist in training new team members.
  • Manage the submission and renewal of research protocols in the Committee on Human Research online system.
  • Participate in protocol reviews and ensure compliance with institutional review board requirements.
  • Conduct regular meetings with investigators to discuss study progress and participant eligibility.
  • Engage in internal and external audits of research protocols.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma with relevant experience in clinical research.
  • Proficiency in electronic medical records and familiarity with oncology settings.
  • Strong attention to detail and excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects effectively.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Associate degree in a health-related field.
  • Three or more years of experience in oncology clinical research.
  • Certification from SoCRA or a similar organization.
  • Bilingual proficiency in Spanish and English.
